Columbia-Presbyterian Neurosurgery represents the most comprehensive multi-subspecialty group in the New York metropolitan area and is ranked #4 in the nation by U. S. News & World Report. Affiliated with Columbia University Medical Center, part of the New York-Presbyterian Health System, Columbia-Presbyterian Neurosurgery is composed of fourteen (14) attending Neurosurgeons and one (1) Interventional Neuroradiologist in academic private practice performing over 2,000 operations and approximately 1,000 catheter-based endovascular procedures per year. Our six neurosurgical subspecialties are: This subspecialty focus has resulted in an overall practice of general neurosurgery that is not only the highest quality available in the region, but one that is also cost effective with an exceptionally short length of stay: 2 days for carotid endarterectomy, 1 day for treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, 4 days for most elective craniotomies in neurologically normal patients.
